During the last two years of my career at UIndy, I tried to lift up the challenges associated with the sixth of these goals: Assess our Universitys cultural competencies and create educational programming that is tied to the development of our community. This strikes me as an appropriate agenda for any university, but especially one which has the kind of social reform heritage that UIndy has, which began with evangelical abolitionists who were trying to reform the continent beginning with the church.
