Pre Civil War Daguerreotype By New Orleans Louisiana Photographer E Jacobs Rare pets The PVFA was Portland VeteranOriginal quarter plate daguerreotype of a man, mat stamped JACOBS, N. O. in the bottom left corner. Full case. Appears to be in very good or excellent condition apart from a spot or two of tarnish; the plate is set back from the mat a bit, so the edges were probably bent slightly up, preventing mat abrasions. Any smudges seen in my pics are on the glass. Dag is no longer sealed . the original seals have dried up and broken apart.. there are some bits
