Control Desk power station The propeller shaft of MVA heavy industrial control desk, its angled panel crowded with rotary dials and switches, sits abandoned inside Hornsby Quarry. Spray paint layers the surface; graffiti covers the concrete walls and timber boarding behind it. The quarry operated from around 1905 to 2002 under a succession of operators, producing crushed dolerite for road base across northern Sydney. Part of the Hornsby Quarry series.
