Before the war, Zabadani was known for its apple orchards, vineyards, cold springs, and summer guesthouses. Families from across Syria traveled there to escape the heat, walking through shaded gardens and quiet streets lined with fruit trees. It was a place associated with rest, fresh air, and open space. During the war, Zabadani came under a long
