Lalzari runner 129 x 89cmA cheerful and unusual late twentieth century rug from north Afghanistan. The dark blue black field is filled with small colourful boteh motifs. Although the pattern is largely regular, the weavers have introduced a few tiny variations (see if you can spot them in the pictures) to bring character to the design. A little loss to the fringes and to the corner of one flatweave end but otherwise in good condition with even pile. 185 x 122cm
