Scotland, David II silver Penny Gold Medal by J EScotland, David II (1329 71), silver Penny, first coinage, second issue (c. 1351 57), probably minted at Edinburgh, crowned youthful head left, sceptre head with handle before, beaded circles and small letter legend surrounding, +DAVID. DEI. GRACIA, rev. long cross, six pointed pierced mullet in each angle, REX SCO TTO RVM, weight 1. 16g (Burns 23, fig. 244; S. 5088). Attractively toned, some die clashing, otherwise almost extremely fine and appealing.
